Michaela Moryskova, originally from the Czech Republic, splits her time between San Diego and Australia. The designer and entrepreneur has been traveling the globe since her days as a runway model (she frequented Paris, Milan, London and Tokyo) and drew inspiration from her travels for her luxury fashion accessories line, Skova. “I go back to the Brno in the Czech Republic to visit my family every other year for the holidays. We make these delicate, detailed traditional Czech cookies that take a few days to prepare and have been around since the 1200s, and we paint wooden ornaments that are another local tradition. December is really festive in Brno and it’s especially magical when it starts snowing. You bundle up and go wander the cobbled streets through all these fantastic Christmas markets with stalls selling wooden toys and mulled wines.”
