The 21st Annual Secret Garden Tour of La Jolla
Sneak into some beautiful hidden gardens this weekend in La Jolla!
We are proud to be the media sponsor for the La Jolla Historical Society’s Secret Garden Tour!
We love this idea. Sneaking into some of the most striking gardens in La Jolla? Sign us up. For two decades, guests at the La Jolla Historical Society’s Secret Garden Tour have stepped into the extraordinary world of La Jolla’s private gardens. The Secret Garden Tour is always much anticipated on our spring calendars (and as an added bonus: the program leaves a legacy throughout the year with financial support for the Society’s exhibitions and educational programs!). In addition to the plants and landscaping, the tour includes opportunities to explore unique designs in the company of garden enthusiasts and friends.
While the garden locations remain a closely guarded secret until the day of the tour, there will be six spectacular La Jolla properties with beautiful views and coastal settings which make this garden tour unlike any other in San Diego. And at each stop, live musicians, plein air artists, and dining table designs will grace the garden scene.
And on Friday, May 17th, the La Jolla Historical Society kicks off the 2019 Secret Garden Tour with the third annual Friday Night Candlelight Garden Soirée at one of the gardens from the 2018 Tour. This intimate gathering gives you an opportunity to mix and mingle with other garden enthusiasts while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, wine and music all by candlelight. This enchanting evening garden experience has a limited number of tickets and will sell out quickly.
Returning again is The Secret Garden Boutique at Wisteria Cottage. Open to the public throughout Tour day May 18th, come shop and enjoy a collection of gardening accessories, plants and gifts available for purchase. There’ll be selections from various vendors known for their special artistic style and craftsmanship as well as a silent auction with one-of-a-kind items. You can purchase delicious authentic Hawaiian inspired cuisine from the Hana Hou To Go food truck on the grounds of Wisteria Cottage throughout the day, plus a wine reception and live music in the afternoon.
Early reservations are recommended as the Secret Garden Tour and Friday Night Garden Candlelight Soirée will sell out quickly. Don’t miss it! Tickets are available at www.lajollahistory.org/events/secret-garden-tour/
