Volcan Valley Apple Farm in Julian This U-Pick apple farm is fun for the entire family. Rows are labeled so that you know what variety you are picking. Harvest season begins late August and runs through mid-October. 760-302-4574.
Welburn Gourd Farm in Fallbrook A scenic drive through Fallbrook leads to this farm where they grow and sell thousands of hard-shell gourds annually. View crafted gourds, learn how to make them and purchase gourd art supplies at the store. 760-728-4271, welburngourdfarm.com
