These lamb burgers from Lajollacooks4u are a delicious alternative to an American classic.
1 lb. ground lamb
1 1/2 red onions (1/2 diced, 1 sliced for garnish)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 t. dry dill
1 1/2 t. dry oregano
1/2 t. cumin
1 t. coarse sea salt
Pinch of crushed red pepper
Zest of 1/2 lemon
Thoroughly combine the lamb, diced onion, garlic, dill, oregano, cumin, salt, red pepper and lemon zest in a large bowl.
Form the lamb into four equal-sized patties. Grill or pan sear them to the desired doneness, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
Remove the burgers from the grill and let rest for 3 minutes.
Serve with your favorite toppings.
