Going Undercover

The ultimate goal for this wall was to conceal the fact that it was a standard cinderblock wall. Because it ran across the length of the yard, it was important to consider it as a major influencer and an opportunity to introduce color and texture. The selectively painted, reclaimed-wood boards add character and provide additional privacy, while the application of stucco and bold paint add drama. An Aztec-inspired, custom stencil was used to create subtle detail and contrast. — Sara Bendrick, host of DIY Network’s I Hate My Yard
