Boudin’s Original Sourdough Stuffing

This holiday season, you can wow your guests with Boudin’s Original Sourdough Stuffing with apple and sausage. This recipe combines sweet and savory with hints of apple, chicken sausage and thyme.

Boudin’s Original Sourdough Stuffing

4 T. canola oil                                                       
1 1/2 c. carrots, diced into 1/4-inch pieces
1 1/2 c. celery, diced  into 1/4-inch pieces                                            
1 1/2 c. onions, diced into 1/4-inch pieces
Salt to taste
3 1/2 c. Boudin sourdough bread, cut into 1/2-inch squares         
2 1/2 c. chicken stock
1 t. thyme
1 c. Granny Smith apples, diced
1 c. apple chicken sausage, cooked
2 T. garlic
1 c. unsalted butter, melted

Preheat oven at 375 degrees.

Warm a sauté pan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add oil and carrots and cook for 1 minute. Add celery and cook for 30 seconds. Add onions and cook another 2 minutes. Add salt to taste. 

Combine bread and vegetables in a bowl. Add chicken stock and thyme and mix evenly. Add apples and sausage and mix evenly. Add garlic and butter and mix evenly.

Transfer the mix to a baking pan. Cover the pan with parchment paper and then aluminum foil. 

Bake 1 hour. Uncover and bake another 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
