Create an Inviting Entrance

Spring is the perfect time to give your front entrance a fresh and cheerful makeover. With these tips, you and your guests will feel welcomed to your home.

First is cleanup — inside and out. Get rid of the cobwebs and replace tired, old or worn elements. Are your window coverings dingy? Do you need to get rid of floor stains? Now is a good time to do so.

On the outside, hang candle wall sconces or lanterns, add a bench or garden chairs, incorporate whimsical animal statues, add colorful artwork and find the perfect welcome mat.

Apply a fresh coat of paint to transform your front door on the exterior and interior.

Trim, repot or replace the greenery that welcomes friends and family. Potted plants are easy to change seasonally.

Brighten the entryway inside with a small light, a mirror and some color. A hallway table makes a great addition too.
