Since 1909, The Charity Ball has been an integral part of the philanthropic and social fabric of San Diego. Beginning in 1953, the year before the hospital first opened its doors, the Charity Ball has exclusively benefited programs and services at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego.

The Shade Store on La Jolla’s Girard Avenue hosted a reception to showcase its spring collection of window coverings. Guests enjoyed wine, a signature cocktail and hors d’oeuvres while browsing interactive displays and viewing the range of style and fabric options available. The La Jolla store, which features multiple computer stations for customers and drawers of sample materials, opened in the fall of 2014.
Frasier Yachts presented a reception for La Jolla Concours d’Elegance VIPs, including car registrants, judges and sponsors. The tented event, titled Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil, took place at Ellen Browning Scripps Park and included a display of Aston Martins from the car maker’s San Diego dealership. Guests enjoyed food from 14 local restaurants, cocktails and a “secret whiskey tasting room.” The event included silent and live auctions. Proceeds benefited the La Jolla Historical Society and Monarch School.
