Helen Woodward Animal Center’s 29th Annual Spring Fling Gala transported guests to “A Night in Old Havana” to benefit the center’s programs for animals and people in need. The event was hosted by KUSI-TV’s Mark Mathis and KFM-BFM’s Shelly Dunn.

Scripps Mercy Hospital raised more than $465,000 for cancer care at its 45th Annual Mercy Ball. Held at San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, the event drew a crowd of 500 supporters. Dinner, a live auction, live musical entertainment, and testimonials from cancer survivors and a caregiver marked the evening.
A crowd of 300 gathered at Park Hyatt Aviara to celebrate the work of physicians and researchers at UC San Diego Health’s Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center. The 20th Annual Heart of San Diego gala featured remarks from Dr. Dean Ornish, who has joined the faculty of UC San Diego School of Medicine and Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center.
